Participatory Planning: Hattholmen Dialogue

The urban study of Karlskrona unfolded in two stages, beginning with my Erasmus+ exchange year at BTH in 2014 and evolving into a diploma project by 2017.

Phase 1: Our studio collaborated with the Municipality of Karlskrona regarding the possible development of the former oil harbor, Hattholmen. The aim was to collect input from Karlskrona residents and various active or potential stakeholders to help the municipality evaluate the area’s potential.

Feasibility Study for a Cultural Center

Phase 2: In this stage, insights from the citizen dialogue were merged with a comprehensive analysis of Karlskrona. This informed the feasibility study that underpins the architectural design of a cultural center proposed for my diploma project.
